For a Professional Pitcher’s Mound and Home Plate Playing Surface, use Players Choice™ Mound / Home Plate Clay to construct or rebuild home plate areas and to repair or rebuild high stress areas. This premium red clay is extremely high in clay content and will rehydrate making it the best mound clay to work with. Easy to use and sets a firm playing surface that will with stand the consistent play of a high use field.

Where it’s used:
Players Choice Mound and Home Plate Clay is used on all high stress areas of a ballfield. Pitchers Mound, Home Plate, Pitchers area on Softball field, bullpens and any other areas that get a lot of traffic.
How to Install:
REPAIRING:
Broom off all loose dirt from the stress areas and lightly water. Add Players Choice™ / Home Plate Clay in 1” inch layers. Tamp the Clay to a firm but level surface. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the new surface is level with the old surface. Ready to play ball!
REBUILDING:
Remove 2 to 4 inches of existing soil from the stress areas and lightly water. Add Players Choice™ / Home Plate Clay in 1” inch layers. Tamp the Clay to a firm but level surface, adding water as necessary. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the new surface is level with the old surface. Ready to play ball!

Players Choice Clay Bricks are used on the pitcher’s mounds, in the batter’s boxes and catcher’s box. This product can be used to construct these areas, rebuild them or simply repair the high stress areas after games or practice. Players Choice Clay Bricks are unfired compressed clay bricks, perfect for building or repairing the high stress areas of your ball field. When the bricks are placed and watered in, they simply turn to firm clay mass to provide durability and reduce maintenance in the high stress areas.

How to Install:
Unfired clay bricks are installed by excavating 3 inches deep in area to be treated, place the bricks in a uniform manor, add 1 to 2 inches of Players Choice Mound Clay to fill void spaces and bring to grade, tamp, and cover lightly with infield mix. A high school size baseball field areas will take 242 bricks.
